World Book Day 2017

Once again, the children and parents of Boothferry Primary school have excelled themselves by showing their love of reading by dressing up as their favorite book characters. This year’s range was extraordinary from classic and modern fiction to instruction texts as well as ‘The book fairy’. We had Wimpy Kid, The child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Fantastic Mr Fox, Aladin complete with magic flying carpet as well as several Hogwarts pupils join us.

Mr Sibley (Professor Dumbledore) remarked in assembly that the standard and attention to detail in the homemade costumes was astonishing.

Mr Capewell (James Bond) said “Hopefully today has inspired children to read a new book after hearing their classmates talking about it”.
Mrs Burden (Goldilocks) added “World book day offers the perfect opportunity for families to share a love of reading with each other.”
