Year 4 Trip to Sewerby Hall

For our local history topic, Year 4 have been learning about Amy Johnson, the first woman who flew solo from London to Australia.

We visited Sewerby Hall, where there is a large collection of her personal belongings. Here we took part in fantastic workshops where we were able to watch videos, learn songs and even hold actual trophies that belonged to Amy Johnson!

There were opportunities to look at her possessions and to even dress up as a pilot!

After looking round the museum and taking part in the workshops, we had the opportunity to visit the zoo and gardens there.
