Child Protection and Family Support

  • Mrs Sharon Perrett is our dedicated Child Protection Coordinator

  • Mr Mike Sibley is the Deputy Child Protection Coordinator

  • Mr Neil Begbie is our Governor with responsibility for safeguarding.

Mrs Perrett and Mr Sibley are always available before and after school.

Mr Begbie is available by contacting the office.

At Boothferry we pride ourselves on supporting families. We support, signpost and listen to families when they are in need.

Sharon has over 30 years experience of working with children, young people and families. In a variety of roles, Youth Worker – Youth and Family Support Worker, and now as Child protection and Behaviour support Parent Worker.

Sharon works with the Headteacher Mr Sibley on child protection issues and concerns.

Sharon is happy to meet with any parents, who may have concerns about their child, to listen and support where appropriate. Offering support in school, and making referrals to other agencies as needed.
Sharon is out at the front of school, at the start and end of each school day, please stop her and say hello, and if you need any support please mention you would like to see her and that can be arranged.

Work will be done in school with pupils on a 1-1 basis covering a wide variety of needs/areas.

When ever I have had a problem the staff on the whole have been sympathetic and helpful.

The best thing about this school, when I ask my child this question, he said Mrs Emmerson.

Opening the school doors at 8.40am has made it much easier as it is less crowded.

the amount of effort put in by the teachers to make topics interesting is brilliant.

The photography club is brilliant, I think introducing things like this is brilliant for the children.
