Fairground Rides

At the beginning of term, the pupils of year 6 went on an exciting adventure to a theme park called Flamingo Land. We tested our nerve on some BIG rides and they were VERY exciting. After our thrilling trip to Flamingo Land, we decided to make some rides or our own with a working circuit! Two of the most successful rides were Spooktacular by Kaitlyn, Paige T, Lily G and Chanel. Also, Colour Cazam by Beth, Mia and Ellie T. Please watch our video.

Which one do you think was the best?

Should animals be kept in captivity?

As part of our fairground topic, we researched  how animals are treated in zoos and held a debate about whether zoos should be able to keep animals in captivity. The conclusion of the debate saw the opposing team win – animals should NOT be kept in captivity. We then wrote a balanced argument setting out the pros and cons of zoos, wildlife parks and aquariums.
