George’s Marevllous Medicine

For our writing masterclass Year 2 enjoyed being a part of George's Marvellous Medicine, our class book for the half term. The children enjoyed making different medicines, watching potions fizz and bubble and watch smoke creep across the classroom. This lead to some wonderful 2A descriptions about George's Lab.

KS2 Harvest Festival

  The key stage 2 Harvest Festival was a great success. It was a lovely opportunity to share the children's hard work with their families and with each other. Every class had spent time considering what harvest is and why we celebrate. We heard a great selection of work, from harvest raps to mystery vegetables!

KS1 Harvest Festival

Reception, Years 1 and 2 proudly presented their Harvest Assembly to parents on Thursday 1st October. The children sang songs, read poems and told parents about different harvest festivals around the world. A great time was had by all and we would like to extend our thanks to parents for all the fantastic food donations.

Science Workshop

Year 6 visited Goole Academy for a Science Workshop on Wednesday 29th September. They got the opportunity to use Bunsen burners to investigate what colour flames glow when different chemical solutions are burned. We also learned about chromatography and fingerprints when investigating 'Who shot Mr. Burns?'

NSPCC

On September 29th Kirsty from the NSPCC came to our school to talk to children about Childline. We met Buddy, who is in the shape of a speech bubble as we are allowed to talk to Childline about anything. We learnt a great way to remember the number using our fingers. It's 0800 1111.  We
