Reception & The Little Red Hen
This week in Reception we have been reading the story The Little Red Hen. The children enjoyed the story and we decided to copy the hen and make our own bread. The children loved mixing the ingredients, kneading the dough and most of all taking the bread home to eat.
Exploring Power
This week in Year 1 the children were invited to bring in a battery operated toy from home. We explored how a battery works and looked at the use of a switch on a toy. Year 4 Descriptive Writing
We have been using the Chocolate Room from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory to improve our descriptive writing. We were using fronted adverbials and similes. ย
Chocolate Day
For the entrance of the new Year 4 topic we invited chocolate by design to come and share their expert information with us. They told us all about where chocolate came from, how it is made, how to find the healthiest chocolate and most excitedly we tempered chocolate.
