Year 4 School Trip to Hull
As part of our topic 'All Aboard!' Year 4 took the train to Hull to visit the Streetlife Museum. We took the train to Hull station where we were given a tour of the station. We were very lucky to meet a train driver, who showed us inside the drivers cabin - and even let us test the train horn! From there we walked to
National Railway Museum
For our entry point as part of our topic All Aboard, Year 4 visited the National Railway Museum in York. We explored the different trains, learning about the history of steam trains and how trains were developed. Some of the trains we saw were the Rocket (the first steam train), the Mallard (the fastest steam train) and a Shinkansen (bullet train). As part of our
Year 4 Cross Curricular Maths Lesson – Pyramid Building
For our cross curricular lesson, Year 4 investigated how pyramids were built using sticks and elastic bands. We used this building as a mathematical investigation to predict how many sticks we would need to build larger pyramids. After putting it all together, we managed to build a pyramid that was almost 3 metres high!
School Council 2022
Introducing the new Boothferry School Council of 2022/2023. On Friday 23rd September, the new school council members were announced in our whole school assembly. These children created presentations and gave speeches in their classes, explaining why they should represent their peers for the year. We are looking forward to our first meeting this week, setting our goals and aspirations for the year.
