In the spring term Year 3 produced leaflets providing information for tourists visiting the ruins of Pompeii. They used Publisher to design the leaflets and researched the information on the internet. Mr Possible took the leaflets to Pompeii where the museum were so impressed with them, that they decide to print further copies for tourists
Amazing finale to Year 2 topic "Media Magic". The children have learnt how to be Foley artists, script writers, animators, editors, directors and much more. The children planned their stories, wrote the scripts, added special effects and created their own animated short films. The animations were fantastic and the awards very well deserved.
This week in Year 1 we've had a very exciting start to our new topic 'Say Cheese!'. We set up our very own catwalk in the hall and the children came to school dressed as their favourite book or film character. We walked down the catwalk doing our best poses whilst our peers used the
Year 1 children enjoyed a trip to Drax Power station today and learnt all about how electricity is made and had a look around inside the Power Station.
This week in Year 1 we have been creating our own aliens! We used a variety of materials to create our aliens, then we had to think of some adjectives to describe the aliens we made. We used these aliens for our Big Write and the children wrote some fantastic sentences to describe their aliens.
In year 3 over the last couple of weeks, they have had lots of fun exploring the different parts of volcanoes and understanding why we have natural disasters such as earthquakes in our world. They have been making jigsaws of the world to help understand the tectonic plates and see where these meet, also
Year 2 are doing animation in computing using the iPads and the iStopMotion app.
This week in Reception we have been reading the story The Little Red Hen. The children enjoyed the story and we decided to copy the hen and make our own bread. The children loved mixing the ingredients, kneading the dough and most of all taking the bread home to eat.
We have been using the Chocolate Room from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory to improve our descriptive writing. We were using fronted adverbials and similes.
For the entrance of the new Year 4 topic we invited chocolate by design to come and share their expert information with us. They told us all about where chocolate came from, how it is made, how to find the healthiest chocolate and most excitedly we tempered chocolate. They created a Chocolate Pizza Bake Off,
