Children in Need

Together the school raised a huge £373.10 for Children in Need last Friday.  The children and staff enjoyed wearing their pyjamas for the day with lots of classes finding out and presenting information about the amazing work Children in Need does in ‘Good Work assembly’.  Well done everybody!

Photography Exhibition

Some lucky year 5 children were challenged by The Courtyard to take amazing photographs using disposable cameras. They showed great skill and even managed to get their best photos on display!

Science Day

We had a fantastic science afternoon last Friday 4th November, welcoming our parents to join us in our investigations. Fantastic learning across school included; exploring ice, investigating shadows, testing materials, making sandcastles, fireworks in a jar, acting out the circulatory system and exploring owl pellets! Temples, Tombs and Treasures

In Year 4 we launched our new topic: Temples, Tombs and Treasures with an exciting day packed with different Ancient Egyptian themed activities. The children took on the role of a tomb explorer to find ancient artifacts in Tutankhamun’s tomb; researched Ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses to make them their own Facebook page; became archaeologists

Dance

This term in PE, we were learning the Charleston (a dance made famous in the 1920s). We watched some videos from Strictly Come Dancing and created our own Charleston. We mastered the basic step and progressed to creating sequences of movements. It also gave us the opportunity to showcase our gymnastic talent! We filmed our

​Fairground Rides

At the beginning of term, the pupils of year 6 went on an exciting adventure to a theme park called Flamingo Land. We tested our nerve on some BIG rides and they were VERY exciting. After our thrilling trip to Flamingo Land, we decided to make some rides or our own with a working circuit!

Sports Award!

After being nominated for a PE award for ‘Outstanding Individual Performance’ for his gymnastics skills and dedication by Mr Butterworth and Mrs Emmerson, Ryan was shortlisted to go the awards ceremony at Cottingham High School. Ryan’s hard work in gymnastics paid off and he was awarded second place at the awards ceremony in July.

Before they were famous

Ethan from Year 5 has been wowing the critics with his headline performance in Oliver, a Stagedoor Academy production. Several members of the school had the pleasure of watching Ethan, moving them to tears with his honest and heartbreaking performance.
