The best Solar eclipse for ages
The best Solar eclipse for ages, was celebrated by all the staff and pupils of Boothferry Primary school.ย Pin hole viewers and the correct safety equipment allowed us to safely view the action. Mr Sibley looked particularly 'cool' in his shades!
Tour De Boothferry
Boothferry have been going cycle crazy, celebrating the first Tour de Yorkshire. Our Youngest pupils had an endurance race, with the grounds being made into a cycle/scooter track.ย The 3 and 4 year olds had to negotiate the tricky course, perform bike maintenance and even give their bikes a wash.ย The Yellow Jersey along with medals for First, Second and ย Third were presented to the
Election fever
On Tuesday 5th May, Boothferry Primary School saw Election fever grip the childrenโs imagination.ย Members of 4E studied the main points of the different political parties and presented them to the whole school. Firstly, the democratic process was explained, including the importance of the local MP and their role in improving Goole.ย The proportional representation system was illustrated and each of the Political Parties explained
Comic Relief
Boothferry School Council organised a very successful Red Nose Day; pupils and staff were invited to wear their pyjamas, 'onesies', dressing gowns and slippers for the day and donated money towards Comic Relief. Children also spent the afternoon with Mr Capewell making a variety of Comic Relief cakes and buns. These were then on sale after school and sold out in a matter of minutes!
